Your mileage may vary with other distros.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Make a copy of your GRUB.<BR><br \/>\n<code>sudo cp \/etc\/default\/grub \/etc\/default\/grub.bak<\/code><\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>Edit your GRUB as sudo.<br \/>\n<code>sudo gedit \/etc\/default\/grub<\/code><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Look for #GRUB_GFXMODE<br \/>\nUncomment and enter a value that uses the ratio of your monitor such as 16:9 values could be 2560&#215;1440, 1920&#215;1080, 1600&#215;900 and so on.<br \/>\n<code>GRUB_GFXMODE=1920x1080<\/code><\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>ADD a NEW LINE below that line like so:<br \/>\n<code>GRUB_BACKGROUND=\/home\/yourusername\/Pictures\/awesomesauce.jpg<\/code><\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>SAVE the file.<\/p>\n<p>Now update grub with this command:<br \/>\n<code>sudo update-grub<\/code><\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>Enjoy the new background image of your GRUB2 menu&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following is written to add a background image to GRUB2 in Linux Mint.\u00a0 This will work with Mint 22.1, it will also work with Ubuntu, and Debian.
